How long until the old BSB is invalid?
CUA has inherited many BSBs over the years due to mergers, but now it’s time to simplify. Some of these old BSBs need to be terminated prior to June 2012. There is no definite date for turning off our main BSB of 804-050 at this stage.
If you are paying your CUA Health from another financial institution, you will need to amend the BSB on your payment instruction. If your CGU Insurance has been purchased through CUA you do not need to take any action as CUA has done this for you. However, if you have a policy directly with CGU you will need to advise them of the new BSB. At this stage, Citibank requires you to advise them personally of any change to your account details, including BSB.
Can I still use my CUA membership number?
This should only be used when talking to a CUA staff member. When setting up any debits or credits to your accounts you should only give a third party CUA’s BSB (814-282) and your eight digit account number.
If your credit/debit provider does not recognise this BSB, they may not have updated their BSB records. Please let us know and we will contact them.
CUA are happy to contact any financial institutions that forward direct credit or direct debit instructions to your account to notify them of this change.
Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee everyone who makes direct debits or credits will act on our instructions, especially if it is an individual rather than a company. We recommend you contact any family or associates who may have stored your account details in their on-line banking systems to let them know about the change.
To help you do this, we can provide you with a list of all direct debits and credits on your account over the past 13 months. You can use this list to work out which companies and individuals you want to notify personally about the new BSB number.
It is important you identify any organisations that may have your details but not deposited funds (such as share dividends) in the past 13 months or are using details such as those on the bottom of your chequebook to transact on your account, so you can notify them.
When advising organisations or individuals about this change, please ensure you provide your eight-digit account number and CUA’s new BSB number 814-282.
If you have any questions please email bsb.change@cua.com.au, call 133 282 or visit your nearest branch.
Do I need to change the BSB for all my credits and debits?
You do not need to change details for any debits or credits being made via your card details, or for regular BPAYs or outward payments you have set up on your accounts. For all direct debits and direct credits to your account from third parties, you should confirm the other party has your eight digit account number and supply them with CUA’s new BSB of 814-282.
