Using the latest payment technology to speed up your purchases and bring ease to your everyday transactions, with Visa payWave there is no swiping, no pin, and no signature required for purchases below A$100 at participating merchants.
You can still use your card for larger purchases of A$100 or more; simply swipe or insert your
Visa PayWave card and enter a PIN or sign – exactly the same way you do today.
A CUA Visa payWave card can also still be used for online payments or over the phone and has all the regular features of a Visa Debit card.
For more information read the Visa payWave Frequently Asked Questions.
1. Check you are using a card with the Visa payWave logo, then look for the payWave symbol at the checkout of participating merchants.
2. The cashier will enter the purchase amount, which is displayed on the payWave reader. When the first green light blinks, wave your card close to the reader.
3. Four green lights will appear and the transaction is complete!
Visa payWave uses the latest payment technology to speed up your purchase transactions. You pay instantly, simply by waving your Visa payWave card over a secure contactless terminal in stores. And because the card never leaves your hands, you’re always in control.
Visa payWave is protected by the same high level of security as your current Visa Debit card. That includes Visa’s Zero Liability protection, which guarantees you are 100% protected from unauthorised transactions.
CUA has also limited payWave purchases to ten per day. Once this daily cap is reached, you will need to sign or enter your PIN to make further purchases.
You can use your CUA Visa payWave card at any participating merchant displaying the Visa payWave logo or contactless symbol.
