What you need to apply

If you are applying for a loan, use this handy checklist to make sure you have all the information and documentation you need when applying.

Buying real estate

1. Proof of your income.

You need to have:

  • Your two latest pay slips showing the year-to-date gross income
  • Last year's payment summary (Group Certificate) or your most recent tax assessment.

If you are self-employed, submit a copy of your two latest tax returns, as well as profit and loss statements for the past two years, and your most recent tax assessment.

2. Proof of your savings.

Your account statements and passbooks.

3. Records of assets you own.

Estimate the value of any investments or other assets you own, including things like furniture, leisure items, vehicles and superannuation.

4. Records of debts you owe.

Include your credit cards, store charge cards, other loans and any other debts.

5. A copy of the contract of sale.

6. A copy of the receipt you received when you paid your deposit.

7. A copy of your building specifications, if you are building a new home.

Refinancing a loan

1. Proof of your income.

You need to have:

  • Your two latest pay slips showing year-to-date gross income
  • Last year's payment summary (Group Certificate) or your most recent tax assessment.

If you are self-employed, submit a copy of your two latest tax returns, as well as profit and loss statements for the past two years, and your most recent tax assessment.

2. Proof of your savings.
