At CUA we recognise that choosing a healthier option is not always an easy choice. That’s why we’re taking our partnership with the adidas School Fun-Run a step further in our quest to give schools a healthy fundraising alternative to traditional chocolate drives.
In 2011, CUA invited selected schools participating in the fun run to apply for a community grant of up to $5,000 to put an idea for positive change into action.
We believe the community knows best when it comes to your local needs. So we gave each community the opportunity to vote for the best local school project they thought would make a difference in the local community.
CUA has been overwhelmed by the positive response from schools within the areas in which we ran the program this year and by the quality of the submissions.
Support from the local community has been incredible, with more than 75,000 votes placed nationally. We have applied the utmost rigour to the vote counting process in order to ensure only legitimate votes have been counted and all votes have also been calculated on a pro-rata basis. As a result of this process, the wining schools and projects are:
