CUA opens its door to Maitland
1 February 2007
MAITLAND and Newcastle locals are set to benefit from increased financial service opportunities as Credit Union Australia (CUA) opens new doors to cater for increased growth and demand in the region.
Residents are invited to celebrate the official opening of the new CUA Branch on Thursday, 15 February with Branch Manager Ms Melissa Olrich, Maitland Lord Mayor Peter Blackmore, radio station NXFM and Koala Bill, while enjoying a free barbecue lunch and having the opportunity to enter in a competition to win an LG Plasma TV.
CUA Maitland Branch Manager Ms Melissa Olrich said she anticipated an exciting year ahead for the new community branch.
“With the official opening luncheon we’re hoping to initiate involvement with the community, offering our services including managing all of their financial requirements,” Ms Olrich said.
“We want people to know that credit unions offer services comparable to, if not better than, the big banks and that few organisations work as hard to make you feel like you belong or provide a higher level of service as CUA.
“In the upcoming months we also want to build connections between CUA and the local schools and hospital to set up sponsorship opportunities and fundraising as part of our commitment to supporting the community.”
CUA Managing Director Mr Graham Olrich said the new branch will give the credit union the opportunity to expand and offer its members personal one on one advice about CUA’s extensive products and services.
“The opening of the new Maitland branch will benefit our members in the local area who require specialist advice on a wide range of financial issues,” Mr Olrich said.
“We are anticipating a positive response from the local community because people recognise the benefits of belonging to Australia’s largest credit union.”
The new CUA Maitland branch is located at Shop 5 The Pavillion, 17 Mitchell Drive, Green Hills, East Maitland and celebratory activities commence from 11am on Thursday, 15 February.
Credit Union Australia is the largest credit union in Australia with a membership base of over 380,000 Australians and over 75 branches throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Western Australia.
