A change for the better

26 October 2007

I am delighted to be able to share with you some of the significant changes that have been instigated at CUA to better serve our members.

We have developed a new brand that reflects our core values to help CUA communicate what we stand for as an organisation. This brand review has delivered the fresh new logo that appears on this website. The pathway in the logo reflects the highs and lows, twists and turns, through life’s journey. We also have a new brand statement which really says what CUA is – “A change for the better”. This reflects our desire to make our products, services and advice for members a change for the better in their lives.

Our website has changed too. Developed from the ground up, the new site features a more visually appealing, colourful design that reflects our new brand. Based on the areas of personal, business and social change, the website now has a more user friendly structure that groups products and services into life stories, with task based navigation to products via these life stories. Some of the features and exciting new capabilities include:

  • a timesavers section with quick drop down menus such as ‘Apply for’ and ‘I need’ which take you directly to the desired information and steps to apply for various products and services
  • improved product groupings so you can more easily find information and move to the next stage
  • a large interactive banner that allows you to pick your life story and takes you directly to products that may apply to you
  • printer friendly options, the ability to increase or decrease the font size on the page and the option to email a page link to a friend
  • more intuitive application and enquiry forms for home loans, personal loans and most other products and services
  • a location finder that allows you to search by suburb to find a CUA branch or ATM. This feature lists the nearest branch / ATM and all those close by, and illustrates where they are on a map
  • our Web Banker has also adopted the new brand look, but current users will notice that none of the functionality or features have been lost and layout has not changed

You can also read about our changes in the 2007 annual report.

CUA’s 388,000 members are supported by our 800 staff. Strong member support for CUA resulted in a record profit of $48 million for the 2006/07 financial year. This profit is re-invested into developing CUA’s branches, products, systems and people to better serve our member needs.

No matter how you interact with us, you will certainly notice a breath of fresh air in and about the new CUA. Please let us know how we can continue to make changes for the better.
