Panthers fan takes a shot to score dream holiday

Avid footballer Ryan Radzietta of Jamisontown never imagined catching a footy in a packed grand stand could lead to a long-awaited holiday but that is exactly what he plans to do after winning the CUA (Credit Union Australia) ‘Take a Shot’ competition.
Mr Radzietta said he had a delayed reaction to winning the $1,000 prize money and signed Penrith Panthers’ jersey which will be presented by his favourite player Frank Pritchard.
“I was like those winners you hear on the radio – all calm because I was in shock but as soon as the shock wore off I was really excited,” he said.
“It’s really cool because I’ve always wanted to take a boys trip to the Gold Coast and now I can.”
As well as the prize money Ryan said he was excited to win the signed Panthers jersey which he plans to frame.
“The jersey is great because it has the special logo for the Centenary Year of the NRL so it’s a real collector’s item. I’ll take good care of it.
“It’s great they let you choose which player you want to present the jersey because I’m a massive fan of Frank Pritchard – he’s a top player.
“The boys are all Panthers fans too and they’re pretty jealous but I promised to buy them a couple of rounds at the pub so that should keep them happy!”
Mr Radzietta, who is a joint-owner of a landscaping business, said he also learned some valuable business skills after completing the CUA Financial Health Check, which he had to complete in order to win the prize.
“There are a lot of things that can go wrong in a business if you’re not sure what you’re doing,” he said.
“I’ve learned ways I can save money and make the most out of the business – I think I’m a bit more careful with my money now.”
