CUA provides hardship relief to help families
In a move to support those affected by the recent Victorian bushfires and Queensland and NSW floods CUA (Credit Union Australia) is giving its members living in the affected areas the option of deferring their loan repayments for up to three months.
Acting CEO Rob Nicholls said that CUA was doing all they could to provide support.
“We understand that now is an extremely difficult and traumatic time for those who have suffered extensive damage to their property or the loss of family members,” he said.
“That’s why we are providing the option of loan payment deferment and have suspended the issuing of loan arrears and overdrawn savings letters for three months, to give members a chance to gather their thoughts and put a plan in place as to how they will move forward from their current situation.
“If CUA members experiencing hardship need to restructure their loan obligations beyond three months, CUA will consider all requests without the usual application form.”
CUA members experiencing hardship should drop into their local CUA branch or phone 133 cua (133 282).
