CUA to support the Leukaemia Foundation

CUA is urging Australians to get behind a great cause by purchasing a lavender product during Lavender for Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma Week from 7-13 July.

All branches of Australia’s largest credit union will sell a variety of lavender merchandise including teddy bears, lapel pins, lip balm, potpourri and soaps.

Funds raised will provide the Leukaemia Foundation with much needed funding to continue providing the best possible care, accommodation, practical, emotional and financial assistance to patients and families, completely free of charge.

CUA Managing Director Mr Graham Olrich said CUA had been involved with the campaign since it began in 2005.

“We recognise that the Leukaemia Foundation provides an important service to the community as the only national not-for-profit dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and other related blood disorders.

“Our staff are proud to help make a change for the better by selling the lavender merchandise and we encourage the community to support this campaign.

“If people can’t make it into the branch during the official lavender week from 7-13 July they need not worry, as we will be selling the merchandise right throughout the month of July.”

Every hour in Australia, someone is diagnosed with one of these devastating diseases. For more information about Lavender for Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma Week please call 1800 620 420.
