5 ways we can help your community in 2018

For over 70 years we’ve been working with members to make a difference in our local communities. In 2018, we’re aiming to do more than ever. Here are some of the ways your community can benefit.

1. Apply for a CUA Mutual Good Community Grant

Do you know a local organisation that needs a little extra help making a big difference? Our Mutual Good Community Grants award up to $10,000 to not-for-profit organisations with big ideas. Last year we supported groups like Queensland Radio for the Print Handicapped, Top Blokes Foundation, and the Australian Animal Protection Society.

This year, applications for grants are being accepted from 1 February 2018. View full details.

2. Raise funds for your local school

We partner with the School Fun Run and organised events at more than 575 schools last year, with 225,354 students taking part and raising over $4.3 million. For many schools it makes up the majority of their annual fundraising income. It also helps promote fitness and good nutrition for kids and parents in a fun way.

Visit www.schoolfunrun.com.au or email info@schoolfundraising.com.au to find out how schools in your area can get involved this year.

3. Get extra volunteers in

Do you know a community group that’s crying out for extra volunteers? Every year CUA team members spend hundreds of days volunteering with charity and community organisations, like Red Nose, Leukaemia Foundation, Beyond Blue, Micah Projects and Royal Flying Doctor Service.

If you know of an organisation that could do with some extra pairs of hands in 2018, email us at community@cua.com.au and we’ll be in touch.

4. Earn cash for your local Queensland cricket club

From grassroots to the Gabba, we’re proud to support cricket at all levels across Queensland. That's why we set up our CUA Community Champions program. It gives our members the opportunity to raise funds for their local cricket club when they bank with us.

Find out how you can get cash for your club.

5. Open up a CUA Everyday Account for Communities

Whether it’s a brand new initiative or one that’s well up and running, our Everyday Account for Communities is designed to help not-for-profit groups with their finances. It offers straightforward ways to manage income and outgoings, and help with security and governance. Find out more or apply today.

We’re ready for a massive year of helping communities in 2018. If your community has big plans for this year too, let us know and we’ll do our best to help.
