Financial Assistance

If you need financial assistance support is available.

Financial assistance for COVID-19

We’re here to support our members in need of financial assistance from COVID-19. The COVID-19 Financial Assistance package will assist members experiencing financial difficulty.

CUA members with home loans or business loans can request deferred repayments for up to six months. For the duration of support, repayments will not be required. Interest and charges will be charged and added to the loan balance.

At the completion of support the loan balance will re-calculated. The re-calculated loan balance will include interest and charges. The total interest repayable over the loan term will increase as a result deferred payments.

The loan term for home loans and business loans can be extended. This will ensure repayments are similar to what they were prior the deferred payment term.

Other options are available for credit cards and personal loans.

Other financial hardship inquiries

There may be other reasons where financial assistance is needed. For example:

  • a change to employment status
  • an accident or illness
  • a natural disaster, like a flood
  • a change in your financial situation

If you meet these criteria, we encourage you to submit an online application for financial assistance.
