Every year over 3,200 families in Australia experience the sudden or unexpected death of a baby or child to 4 years of age. On 13 October 2016, SIDS & Kids changed their name to red nose, making the pledge to reduce this to ZERO. CUA is proud to be a Mission Partner of red nose, working together on their journey.
Since first becoming a partner in 2014, we have supported this charity (previously known as SIDS and Kids) to make a positive difference in our communities by building greater awareness of the services and activities they undertake.
CUA’s financial support has already assisted vital research undertaken around stillbirth, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and safe sleeping practices. In particular, the funding contributed to the expansion of the SIDS & Kids Online Safe Sleeping Education package, an accredited training session for health care professionals.
In the past three years, our CUA team members have devoted thousands of hours to volunteering with the charity, holding fundraisers and selling merchandise for red nose day through branches and in the wider community.
We are focused on working with red nose as their Mission Partner to explore new ways of increasing awareness and education around preventing sudden and unexpected deaths of children within our communities.
